Devine Chocolate Chip Cookies

We have a sister in our ward with the last name Devine. What makes her name special is that she is an amazing cook. On the first time we met, I told her that her homemade bread was divine. She laughed out loud and then proceeded to tell me that Devine was her last name. These cookies are both divine and Devine. My favorite way to eat them is with a giant scoop of ice cream sandwiched between two.

P.S. I'm thinking of changing my last name to Delicious.

Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (optional)

Directions:
Place the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer. Cream together on medium speed until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Beat in the vanilla and eggs. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and continue to mix until a smooth batter forms. Fold in the chocolate chunks and nuts using the spatula. Form the cookies into a ball and place them about three inches apart on a prepared cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 11 minutes.
